| Antonia De la Cruz Contreras, Antonia Contreras is, for Andalisian folk music, an artist with a promising career; she has a strong and profound style, sensitive to the most authentic aspects of Flamenco traditional culture.
She has gained recognition and praise, and received numerous Flamenco awards; she has a varied repertoire including soleá, siguiriyas, tangos, rondeña, caña o cartagenera.
She has had a long international career and is an ardent fan of artists such as la Niña de los Peines and TomásPavón. She always tries to renew the poetry of Andalusian folk song as well as adapting the lyrics of new composers. She also includes in her repertoire poems from some of the most important Andalusian poets. Her most outstanding recent show is “El Amor Brujo”, 2006-2010 performed in France, Spain, Japan, Portugal, Brazil and Bulgaria. She also recorded, with the Poitou-Charentes Orchestra conducted by Jean-Francois Heisser, the Manuel de Falla classic in its 1915 version. Subsequently, this was taken on tour in France.
